Privacy Policy
Very New Media is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy is intended to describe what and how any personal information is processed and used, and we aim to ensure that our activities keep within the spirit of this policy. Please note that by visiting and using verynewmedia.com you are accepting the practices described in this privacy policy.
What information does Very New Media gather and how is it used?
Every computer connected to the Internet is provided with a referring domain name (google.com, for example) and an IP Address (e.g. 218.204.12.10). When you visit verynewmedia.com, Google’s Analytics service logs the HTTP request. This information reveals nothing personal about you; the only information that we automatically gather and log is:
- Your IP address.
- The URL of the referring page (i.e. the link you followed), if any.
- Any search terms you may have used to find verynewmedia.com.
- The Environmental variables (i.e. browser type, operating system type).
There is nothing special about this information, and the practice of collecting this data is a standard practice for practically every web site you visit.
We use this data to track our traffic and determine what kind of searches and referrals bring people to verynewmedia.com, and how best to continue to market our online presence. We also use the environmental data to make sure that our web site is cross-browser and cross-platform compatible.
What about Cookies?
Cookies are small packets of data that are transferred to your temporary Internet files through your browser from a web site. A cookie cannot read data from your hard disk or read cookies that may have been created from other sites. There are also sharedObjects, which is a Flash-specific class that acts exactly like a cookie, used to store data on the user’s local hard drive and call that data during the same session or in a later session. Web sites can only access their own SharedObject data, and only if they are running on the same domain. The data is not sent to the server and is not accessible by other embedded Flash objects running on other domains.
The Very New Media site currently does not use cookies or sharedObjects.
