Scene and Sound
Scene and Sound are a charity based in the East Midlands that promote accessible theatre performances across the country and engage with audiences of deaf, hard of hearing, blind and partially-sighted people.
Obviously the primary focus for Scene and Sound was ensuring that the site was as accessible and usable as possible to anyone who wanted to use it, regardless of their disabilities. This included not just accounting for variable text sizes, but ensuring that every aspect of the site was designed with an infinitely fluid layout in mind and – crucially – had to work just as well on legacy browsers. The site was developed and rigorously tested every browser and platform we could get our hands on, and has since been appraised and approved by the Royal National Institute for the Blind.
